Setting the direction for SAICE PMCD in 2026 and beyond - SAICE PMCD

The SAICE Project Management and Construction Division started 2026 with focus and intent as the PMCD Committee held its first meeting of the year. The meeting reflected on the successes achieved during 2025 while setting a clear course for priorities and initiatives for 2026 and 2027. Increasing membership, collaboration with industry stakeholders, and hosting member events were key themes identified for the next two years.

The Committee was privileged to be joined by Sekadi Phayane-Shakhane, Chief Executive Officer of SAICE, as well as Professor Chris Roth, SAICE President for 2026. Their participation highlighted the strong alignment between SAICE leadership and its professional divisions.

A key moment of the meeting was the PMCD Committee being the first SAICE structure to hear the Presidential Address for 2026. This milestone reaffirmed PMCD’s role in advancing professional leadership, strengthening the project management discipline, and shaping the future of the built environment in South Africa.

With a shared vision and renewed energy, the PMCD Committee looks ahead to a productive term focused on meaningful impact and continued professional excellence.
