Prof. Innocent Musonda : Professor of Sustainable Built Infrastructure and Digitalisation(UJ)
Keynote Topic: “Digital Transitioning in the Built Environment of Developing Countries.
Prof. Musonda is Professor of Sustainable Built Infrastructure and Digitalisation at the University of Johannesburg, where he directs the Centre for Applied Research and Innovation in the Built Environment (CARINBE) and coordinates the MPhil in Digital Built Environment. At the heart of pioneering efforts to build infrastructure better through digital transitioning, he has been instrumental in advancing the uptake of BIM, digital twins, and 4IR technologies across Africa. An internationally recognised scholar and thought leader, Prof. Musonda’s research and industry partnerships continue to shape the future of sustainable infrastructure and digital transformation in the built environment. Join the discussion and experience how digital transformation is shaping the future of construction and infrastructure.

Dr Bridget Ssamula: CEO (Engineering Council South Africa)
Dr Bridget Ssamula, is the CEO for Engineering Council South Africa. Formally trained as a civil engineer, Bridget holds a PhD in transportation engineering from University of Pretoria, in South Africa and an MBA in Aviation Management, from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, USA. Bridget has over 26 years’ experience in various sectors in research & academia, operations and consulting in regional and global roles. She has held directorship portfolios on boards of various transport entities and strategic planning & advisory roles for universities, cities and states in South Africa. She has numerous industry awards and recognitions, and she is the author of a variety of peer reviewed conferences, conference papers, technical papers and mainstream articles in the field of aviation. She is passionate about mentoring and has been involved in strategizing, planning, and implementing social impact initiatives as part of our Project delivery model through job creation, skills transfer, and small business engagement.
Warren Philip McLachlan: Technical Specialist, Roads and Highways (SMEC)
Warren Philip McLachlan is a Technical Specialist in Roads and Highways with over 12 years of experience in South Africa, Australia, the Middle East, Botswana, and Mozambique. He specialises in geometric design, traffic engineering, and integrated rapid transport systems. He holds a BEng (Civil Engineering) and a BEng (Hons) in Transportation Engineering, graduating cum laude from the University of Pretoria. As a registered Professional Engineer and Corporate Member of SAICE, Warren brings strong expertise in traffic microsimulation, non-motorised transport design, 3D modelling, and digital engineering.
Anien Nauta: Professional Architect & BIM Manager (AECOM)
Anien Nauta is a Professional Architect and BIM Manager at AECOM, bringing over 13 years in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. She is deeply invested in digital transformation and information management in the built environment, with expertise in bridging design and data to drive smarter project delivery. Anien leads the development and implementation of BIM strategies, setting digital standards, and managing information workflows to ensure consistency, accuracy, and interoperability across disciplines. Her work focuses on creating scalable frameworks for project data exchange, promoting collaboration, and optimizing lifecycle information management. She is committed to helping the industry evolve through effective digital adoption and change leadership.
Fiona Carr: Program Advisory Lead (36Zero)
Fiona has worked in the engineering and construction industry for over 10 years. She graduated from the University of Cape Town with a BSc in Civil Engineering and obtained a Commonwealth Scholarship to do her Masters at Imperial College London in Advanced Structural Engineering. In Cape Town Fiona worked at PRDW as a port and coastal engineer, then moved to ARUP to focus on engineering within the Built Environment. In 2022 Fiona moved to London to join AtkinsRealis as a senior structural engineering and project manager. In 2025 Fiona joined 36Zero, a digital technology company focused on improving worker welfare, safety and labour optimisation, to help drive a positive change on heavy industry sites.
Donovan Schult: Head of Digital & Technology (MPAMOT)
Donovan Schult is Head of Digital & Technology at MPAMOT, with over 25 years of experience driving digital transformation across international organisations. He has led major initiatives in the engineering consulting sector at both MPAMOT and Mott MacDonald, combining deep technical expertise with strong leadership to deliver integrated, sustainable digital systems that align technology with business strategy.
Gauri Conrad: Digital Delivery Coordinator (Stefanutti Stocks)
Gauri Conrad is a seasoned Digital Delivery Coordinator and qualified Civil Engineering Technologist who is passionate about advancing digital transformation in the construction industry. Gauri has several years of experience implementing and standardizing Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes to enhance collaboration and efficiency across construction projects. Currently she is part of a team that drives excellence in execution through the use of digital tools at Stefanutti Stocks CPT. Before joining Stefanutti Stocks, she worked in the engineering consulting space as a BIM Modeller, contributing to a range of international projects in countries such as Australia and the UAE from the offshore branch. Her passion for the built environment began at the age of 16 when she joined go for gold, a transformative programme forging career pathways for underserved youth in South Africa. Now as an alumni, Gauri continues to mentor young people pursuing careers in the built environment. Through this work, she has witnessed firsthand the powerful impact that mentorship and digital innovation can have on shaping future industry leaders.
Thabang Ramatsosa: Senior Design Technology Specialist (MODENA AEC/INFRA)
Thabang Ramatsosa is a Senior Design Technology Specialist with experience leading digital strategy and innovation across AEC companies. Proven track record in guiding teams through BIM adoption, Revit and cloud collaboration. Aligning digital tools with ISO 19650 and organisational goals, drive transformation, and future-proof project delivery.
