The Education and Training Subcommittee is dedicated to enhancing the skills and knowledge of professionals in the field of project management and construction by developing comprehensive educational programs and training opportunities.
This subcommittee is responsible for designing and regularly updating educational programs and courses, overseeing the administration of the introductory course in project management currently run by the past chairperson, Mr. Hamish Riddet, and organizing workshops, seminars, and continuing education sessions for ongoing professional development. It also develops CPD accredited courses, creates and distributes educational materials, and maintains e-learning platforms to provide accessible training options.
Furthermore, the subcommittee establishes partnerships with universities and colleges, arranges guest lectures, develops mentorship programs, offers career guidance, and plans educational conferences and training sessions. It collects and analyses feedback from participants to assess program effectiveness and implements continuous improvements based on feedback and industry developments. The mandate of the subcommittee is to develop comprehensive programs, support professional growth, enhance accessibility, foster collaboration, promote excellence, encourage feedback, and support members. By fulfilling these duties and responsibilities, the Education and Training Subcommittee plays a vital role in enhancing the knowledge and skills of SAICE PMCD members, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the demands of the project management and construction industry.
